PANTHER POND
Panther Pond and Park, located just off WYO 387, draws residents and travelers alike. The site is also the location of Wright's Visitor Center, which showcases information about the local energy industry. In addition, Wyoming Game and Fish has provided mounts of elk, deer and pronghorn antelope. An interpretive walking path surrounds the pond, explaining history of the area. Walking paths offer excellent views of area wildlife and bison roaming on the nearby Durham Ranch. A tunnel under WYO 387 connects the pathways and offers visitors a short walk to the Wright Centennial Museum. The Wyoming Game & Fish Department stocks Panther Pond with a variety of species of fish including Channel Catfish, Green Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, and Rainbow Trout for anglers of all ages. During the summer months the pond includes a lighted fountain and ice fishing is allowed during the winter months.
Playground equipment for ages 2-12 is available west of the pond with a large sheltered picnic area. RV dump and clean, handicapped-accessible restrooms are open year round making this park comfortable for all visitors.
